How about wooden blocks and/or Duplos/Megablocks? A tricycle or balance bike? |

Is he close to 3, or a newly turned 2 year old? My nephew LOVED the "Shake n Go" cars when he was younger. |

Magformers, no question. They are expensive, but I have been building up our collection for years, and they are beloved by everyone who comes to our house.
Also Wedgits--same thing, worth building a large collection. |
