Great toy ideas for a two year old.

Please help me with some toy ideas. My son loves trains, books, puzzles, balls, and cars. Is there any toy besides these I should get.

That covers a lot of the typical interests.

How about wooden blocks and/or Duplos/Megablocks? A tricycle or balance bike?

Geotrax? Maybe a different simple remote controlled car?

Is he close to 3, or a newly turned 2 year old? My nephew LOVED the "Shake n Go" cars when he was younger.

Marble run? He'd need your help at first.

Does he have the little tikes cozy coupe car..that's a big hit for years. Or the little tikes shopping cart. Both big hits in my house.

Play kitchen and play food has been a hit in our family. Got it for the 2 yo but the 4 yo plays with it too.

Magnadoodle for drawing.

Magformers, no question. They are expensive, but I have been building up our collection for years, and they are beloved by everyone who comes to our house.

Also Wedgits--same thing, worth building a large collection.

Melissa and Doug cutting vegetables. DD loved it at age 2, and it's become my go-to gift for every 2 year old birthday.

Aquadoodle (travel size) is also great. Easy and no-mess way to color/draw.

Ballpit and slide from One Step Ahead. It is always a hit at playdates and they send replacement parts for free.

Playdough, Mr. Potato Head, puppets, larger legos
