| My parents will be renting an apartment in the area for about a year. They'd like to keep their furniture in their home, so I think renting is the best option. Does anyone have a recommendation of a furniture rental company they'd recommend? Or one they'd recpmmend against? Thanks. |
| I've done Cort before but its probably cheaper to buy it new/sell it as I've had family do that in the end than rent. |
| Better off just buying cheap furniture. |

I would recommend Ikea furniture rather than nasty, smelly, bedbug-riddled rental furniture.
We used American Furniture Rentals (I think) and can't recommend them at all. They were remarkably cavalier when we discovered bedbugs, which likely came from their crap to begin with, and didn't sound surprised or concerned at all. They eventually hauled the infested items away, unwrapped, in a truck filled with other pieces of furniture. To top it all off, the delivery men stole clothing from our apartment's dryer when they collected the furniture. Not cool. |
We did Cort in college and it would have been cheaper to just go to Ikea. |
| One word - fleas! |
| Ikea for upholstered stuff, Freecycle for case goods. |
Case goods are just as likely to harbor bedbugs as upholstered furniture. |
