I am almost 6 week pregnant and has been sufering with cold and little feaver for two weeks. I took Tynanol of and on but my feaver really did not disappear. I saw a nurse practitioner and she preccribed me to take Amoxicillin(500 mg) for 10 days. I had two miscarrages with in last 4 months so, I am little nervious about taking the pills. Has anyone taken Amoxicillin during that early in pregnancy if so, were you comfortable with it.

I did. I was prescribed amoxicillin for a UTI (3 rounds of it, actually) early in my pregnancy by my midwife. It is a class b drug, which means it has been tested and is safe during pregnancy. You should look up the ratings of different drugs online and speak with your doctor about possible harm it might cause to you or your baby before you take anything. You can also ask the pharmacist for more information.

Before you take anything-ask for a blood test to see if you have an infection that requires an antibiotic-it will clarify if there really is a need and if there is, it will put your mind at ease. And if there isn't, you will avoid taking unneccessary meds.
