PFOX Flyer Sent Home with Students

Did your child really come home with this? I would be LIVID

There is a big discussion among Montgomery County employees about this issue going on right now. These flyers were to be distributed at several MCPS high schools last week or the week before. The county has taken this group to court in the past to try to ban them from sending their flyers home, but they lost. If there are parents who have actually received them and are upset, I would urge you to contact your principal and write to the members of the Board of Education. If they hear from enough people, they may revisit the issue.

Well, use it as a grat teaching moment with your children. The PFOX types will continue to spread their messages whether or not they can send home a flyer. Take the opportunity to have a frank discussion with your child about what they believe, what you believe and and what your child thinks is right. Our children need to know both sides and know what kinds of arguments are out there so that they are prepared for grown up life.

OP here

I agree. However, I am upset that they suddenly slipped in the literature, as I'm certain teachers (I'm including myself.) would only be too happy to discuss this issue.
