| How do I go about transporting soup for Thanksgiving? We're going on a road trip (4 hours by car). Do I find a huge rubbermaid thingy? Can i use a soup tureen? I don't want it to spill everywhere. |
| My mother has a crock pot that seals on the top so you can take it to go. I know she has transported soup in it. |

Was going to suggest same as PP. This is the one I have:

How will you keep the food at the proper safe temperature in a crock pot for four hours?
I would freeze the soup, then heat it up when you get to your destination. Frozen soup won't spill! |
| Ziploc baggies and a cooler. |
| Tupperware with screw top(s). |
| Tupperware in a cooler. |
| Brilliant ideas, all. Will likely do the cooler with tupperware or huge ziploc bag. |
|
What about one of those huge plastic jugs used for water and sports drinks?
Sort of like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-2-Gallon-Water-Jug-Red/dp/B0027IAVYI/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1321559744&sr=1-13 |

I would hesitate to put hot liquids in plastic, even if "BPA free." Make a batch of soup, let it cool, freeze in tupperware, and then put it in a cooler in the car.

OP here. This is a good idea. I would definitely let it cool before putting it tupperware. |
