Her kind of appeal really sets off something horrible in a lot of women. I don’t understand why. I think she’s unusually good-looking for a 50something woman, even one in entertainment, that the vast majority of the people we recognize from music and movies play PR games, including supposed saints, and that even those saints have their own trail of infidelities and other crap. Why the laser-hot contempt for Lopez?

JLO is one of the biggest celebrities in the world and pretty annoying: dumb - believes in crystals and all kinds of crap and obviously thirsty for attention, even after so many years in the spotlight. There other famous women that draw much more contempt than Lopez - Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow. and unlike with jlo, where there are 10 posts defending jlo for every one, no matter how mildly, critical, there is barely anyone defending Angelina or Gwyneth. This is what true jealousy looks like. So many men (and yes, including Affleck) always wanted these two and women can't accept it.

And no, nobody cares that jlo looks great for her age. You know why? Because, at the end of the day, she is 50+. There are so many effortlessly beautiful women in their 20s and 30s. At almost fifty, I don't envy anyone working 24/7 to maintain their looks. It sounds exhausting and I literally wouldn't want to spend an hour in JLO-s shoes.

Oh yeah, this is definitely written by a woman approaching or over 50 and looks it. Sorry JLo looks amazing and any woman of any age wants to be able to say the same.

As I said myself, I am nearing 50. You might be surprised to hear that for some women of that age appearance is not the most important thing in the world. I wouldn't mind looking like JLO in some respects (her legs too short for my taste - I much prefer my own body type), but I absolutely don't want to put the effort and don't envy anyone who does. I have been married for nearly 30 years, have a loving husband and gorgeous kids and the idea of exercising, dressing up, wearing high heels, doing the fake eyelashes and the hair extensions and the selfies and the filters all day, every day, holds zero appeal to me.

Okay but those things did matter to you until unfortunately your age and genetics made it impossible to compete with women who still look years younger while maintaining that same age.

And that’s alright for you or women like you. But you don’t get to disparage women who still look youthful in their 40s and 50s because you can’t.
