You are a Love Taza stalker/fangirl |

You're a down-to-earth midwesterner who moved to DC for a nonprofit job after college. You only planned to stay a few years, but met your husband while he was in law school at GWU. He's second generation Persian and grew up in MOCO. He never plans to leave the area so it looks like you're stuck here, too! You're okay with it now because your kids go to great schools in Montgomery County (the best schools in the country!) and your in-laws are actually wonderful--very warm to you and a great help with the kids. Your husband promised to purchase a small cabin on a lake back in your home state and go for at least 2 weeks every summer, but so far you haven't been in a place financially to make it work. You did do an AirBnB for 6 days last summer and the kids had a blast, and you sometimes catch yourself browsing real estate listings wistfully. |
You've always been a bit of a "black sheep" in your family. You're old money and everyone in your family works in law, medicine, or politics. You rebelled against this by becoming a professor. You met your husband in grad school (he was your advisor) and were a trailing spouse for a while. Now you've both settled at the University of Maryland. |

You're an accountant by day but an artist at heart. DH is a literature nerd and works at a think tank. Blythe is a sophomore in college and only calls when she needs something. You wish she'd call more just to say hi and check in, but she's had little interest in you guys since she went away to college. Cyril is a freshman in high school and a pretty good kid, all around. You know you did a better job with him--when Blythe was born, you were young and overwhelmed, without any family help. By the time Cyril came along, you were in a more stable place and had mended fences with your in-laws, so they helped a lot. Blythe has always resented Cy. |

Wasn't that the beginning of a Def Leppard song? |
Hahaha I did grow up in the Midwest and my in laws have been incredibly supportive. My dh is first generation Bangladeshi though. He actually wants to move from the area and I love it here! I was the one who forced him to move back here after we moved to north carolina while he was in medical school. I love it here! |
