I wrote a post on how much I hate women who are TTC and are envious of Michelle Dugger and her choice to have 20 children. Don't tell me you deleted it because my view on natural selection bothered you? |
The TTC forum is a place for people to find support as they confront what is for many a very difficult challenge. The last thing the participants of that forum need is someone coming in and attacking them. As such, your thread was extremely off topic. I didn't even get around to reading about your view regarding natural selection and don't really care what view you hold.
Also, I will take you a bit more seriously if/when you learn the difference between censorship -- an activity undertaken by the government -- and moderation -- an activity conducted by a website administrator. |
Thank you, Jeff. I appreciate your compassion & good judgment. |
Agreed with immediate PP. Thanks, Jeff, for keeping the TTC forum a "safe place." OP is way off base.

Thank you Jeff. I am not TTC but I lurk there because I find the atmosphere so inviting and the women there inspiring. I was sickened by that thread and thought about drawing your attention to it but worried I might be out of line. Thank you again. |
Thank you, Jeff... I'm a nanny and definitely not TTC.
I think DCUM can be snarky at times (I am snarky at times as well!!), but I think the TTC forum should be off limits from the snark. I have a lot of compassion for these women and appreciate you deleting that thread. |
Jeff, you're right. My post doesn't belong there and neither do I. I am not TTC (have one and another on the way) but used to come there occasionally to help others. But I realized that I don't want to help women if they have envy or are that judgmental about other women's choices. It doesn't feel right.
Bashing Michelle Dugger IMO should not be considered providing support to women trying to conceive.. It's just being judgmental at best and envious also at worst. As TTC women, they should be upholding and celebrating Dugger's natural fertility because they know they all want that same natural ability, if maybe not the desire to exercise it fully as she has. And where did you get your definition of censorship? That's only one application of the word 'censorship.' There are different kinds of censorship such as religious censorship, corporate censorship, internet censorship, etc... that the government needn't or doesn't have any involvement with...anyone with authority can censor something. Moderation is different, it's a broader definition. Censorship might be one part of moderating. |
