Does anyone have first hand knowledge of the school? I recognize that it is quite diverse and did not make AYP, but has Spanish immersion program and new principal and the demographics may be shifting due to the BRAC/ Beauregard redevelopment. We won't need an elementary school for a number of years.

Nothing? really?

A number of my DD's friends go there and seem happy with it. I think most are in the dual immersion program--it is not a Spanish immersion program and at some point recently I heard that the principal isn't terribly committed to keeping the program. I don't think BRAC will make a huge difference to the school--most BRAC employees are commuting in from the ex-burbs. Overall I would say it is a lower-performing school that at least has the potential to do better.

I may be wrong - but I think the development change may actually be commercial as opposed to any residential changes. BRAC is just bringing people from other places in the metro area to work at that building but not necessarily to move and live there.
