I noticed it at Trader Joe's the other day and was tempted to buy it, but didn't want to spend the 4 bucks only to not like it. Is it any good? Does it taste like PB at all?

| If it's soybeans, then it is very gross. Really, don't bother. |
|
Not soybeans. Here's the list of ingredients:
Ingredients: PEANUTS (AS DEFATTED PEANUT FLOUR AND NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER), TAPIOCA SYRUP, PURE WATER, DEHYDRATED CANE JUICE, RICE SYRUP, VEGETABLE GLYCERIN, SOY FLOUR, SALT, TAPIOCA STARCH, NATURAL FOOD FLAVORS, PAPRIKA & ANNATO, CALCIUM CARBONATE, LECITHIN, VITAMINS E & C (ANTIOXIDANTS). |

I've had it... It's a little sweeter than your average peanut butter. I enjoyed it but now prefer just eating freshly ground pb.
If you are looking for a very low cal pb there is a a brand called pb2 which is powdered peanut butter. They basically grind peanuts & remove the oil. You add water to rehydrate. That tastes exactly like peanut butter but it's harder to find. |
| It's ok. Kind of goopy. But it does have a sweet PB-y taste. I didn't buy it again after the first time. |
| Funny you ask this. Last week, after reading great reviews of it online, I went to Whole Foods and bought 2 jars. I am REALLY disappointed by it -- the taste is seriously gross in my opinion. I currently use Peter Pan reduced fat, but I know the all-natural is supposed to be much healthier -- yet so high in fat and calories! Had high hopes for it but just not tasty. |
| Where can I buy this PB2? |
| I did buy it to make peanut butter banana muffins that were low fat, but what you give up in the low fat you gain in the higher sugar content. I compared my natural peanut butter I had at home already to the TJ's better than peanut butter and it's much higher carb/sugar content but lower fat. It doesn't taste the same as the good old real peanut butter. I made peanut butter cookies with it too and I didn't like the sweeter fake taste, but everyone has their own taste buds so you/your family might like it. I won't be buying it again. |
| I love it -- have been using it for about three years and it's a staple for me. It makes a great sandwich and toast spread. |
| I tried it once and thought it was incredibly disgusting. But then again I don't even like "regular" peanut butter. I will only eat the kind that is peanuts and salt, no other ingredients. I don't like the artificially sweet taste of most peanut butters. All this stuff is, is some peanuts and some fillers and sugars to reduce the calories and fat. Why not just use real peanut butter and spread it thin? Then you can skip the artificial ingredients. |
what isn't all natural in peter pan reduced fat? all natural is typical marketing bullshit |
|
reduced fat is really such a crock of shit looks like they double the carbs to replace a little fat, not really helping any weight gain here
