My coworker celebrated Bastille Day with some kind of obstacle course at a bar yesterday...but it gave me the idea to create one for my kids. So I set up a series of tasks around the yard (can work indoors too with modifications). I made a path of those plastic balls, about 2 feet apart in a big semicircle. They have to run in and out around the balls and then they come to a bowl of water on a stool, where they must take a teaspoon of water and carry it over to the bowl on the patio table, carefully. Then they must push the kitty in the swing 3 times, go down the slide, punch the weeble wobble thing and jump over the toy I placed at the end of the course. Then they keep going and going until they are tired. It cost absolutely nothing and took hardly energy to put together...somedays I am too tired to go to the park after work and they had a ball. You can get as creative as you want with the tasks in the course...bubbles, easels, jumping jack station, etc.
