Urinary incontinence

Anonymous
I am wondering whether any of us older ladies have been able to overcome these annoying little leaks - naturally? Through devoted kegels? Yoga? Other exercise? Has it worked for you? Thank you -

I went through menopause a little on the early side (47). Right around 47 I had some urinary issues (e.g., I would have to go like crazy when I woke up in the morning and wouldn't always quite make it). This lasted maybe a year and then went away. I did have one bad urinary tract infection during that period (something I had never had before) - ever since then I have taken a cranberry tablet (400 mg) everyday and I think that has helped. I don't know that everyone is as fortunate as I was, but in my case it went away.

Well I guess this means nobody reading this forum has overcome minor urinary incontinence with kegels or other natural methods. Quel depressing! Why am I doing these kegels if it doesn't even work?

Don't give up it might be you are not getting the correct muscles which is very common. Research would suggest that pelvic floor exercises (kegel) work if done correctly.
