Not OP and DD not at either of these clubs but yes, the look that kids got on brave is similar to Union. Any ECNL team gets a ton of exposure. What you do with it is yours. DD played a game with 125 scouts at an Ecnl showcase. Many might have been there for the other team. She had an outstanding game. Received more than 20 calls from schools she had not been in contact with. ECNL get you the exposure. Would you rather be on Union than Brave if the travel time was the same. Of course. Was there more exposure at Union, of course. But Brave got plenty of exposure.

My DD plays Brave and the colleges these kids are writing to are attending their games including US Scouts - all the big conference teams attended and contacted coaches. I am honestly shocked how arrogant PP statement is. I really hope this parent leaves for another club because I can already hear his elitist commentary on the sidelines. Ick!

Yes, the college coaches are watching lots of teams, but if you don’t think club coach connections matter you are deceiving yourself. College coaches see lots of players but will rely on club coaches they know and trust and that is what will land the plane and result in actual offers and placement. This is true across all sports.

No the club coaches do almost nothing. Most colleges coaches do not even reach out to club coaches before making a commit. Like 90%. If your experience was different then good for you but not that way at most clubs. Where club coaches do help is if you come up dry on your own and end junior year without a commit. Then yes club coaches make calls and really market you. Not earlier junior year though. Again -- if you have that you have something special that is not in wide use.

Wow. Just wow. You have really been short-changed in the process then. Our club's experience (FCV) was very different.

Like I said -- if that is true you had a good thing going because that is not the way it is at most places. Too bad it is gone.

This really reads like MYS had no choice at all. Not sure why everyone is knocking them so hard. ECNL seems to be at blame for giving them no real time to make changes before the hammer was going to be dropped.

Let's just be clear about this: which ones are the recruits who could not have gotten these offers if they had played for a different coach or club? To turn down an offer from CW is a poor choice indeed. His players show consistent and stunning growth every year.

NVA is ahead of Union in the 07/08/09 groups, all of which CW was involved involved in coaching. The 11's team he's currently coaching just lost to NVA 3-1 less than a month ago. Please tell us again how his history when they were the only game in town should be more heavily weighted than the results of this so called stunning growth for the last 4 age groups he's coached?

Congrats on NVA having a couple teams better than Union for the first year ever. But don’t be surprised if union is better in every age group next year.
Nobody would say the NVA 07s are ahead of the Va union 07s now. They are just lucky they don’t have anyone good enough to miss half the season with USYNT. If you are using individual results, didn’t the 08s just beat NVA. The NVA 08s are better because of some of the players CW had that left for NVA. And the 09s had a couple leave too.
Only game in town was like 7 years ago. And if you think records are the only way to define a coach then that my friend is why Loudoun and NVA don’t have any pros and you don’t hear much about how they are doing in college. You can win games with just better athletes and being organized. Do me a favor and go call any college coach in the country and say, I’m trying to decide on playing for any coach at NVA or playing for CW and l can promise you I know what they will say.
