Extraordinary Parents' Night

Speaker Dr. Laurie Dietzel is the co-author of the book Late, Lost, and Unprepared: Understanding and Helping Children with Weak
Executive Skills

Thursday November 10th, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Rockville Memorial Library: 21 Maryland Ave, Rockville MD

Partnership for Extraordinary Minds invites you to join us at our upcoming
parent's night on November 10th. Dr. Laurie Dietzel, Ph.D will be presenting
information on the executive functioning challenges in students with ASD.

Dr. Dietzel will provide a "user-friendly" framework for understanding the
self-regulatory, cognitive control skills described as the executive functions.

After defining these essential skills, she will focus on working memory,
initiation, and cognitive flexibility as these are often areas of weakness for
individuals on the Autism Spectrum.

Setting realistic expectations, providing appropriate accommodations, and
interventions will be summarized and time for questions and discussion will be
provided.

These free meetings allow parents to support each other, share experiences,
and solve problems to improve the educational experiences and outcomes of
students on the autism spectrum. Registration is not required.

Light refreshments are served. Call 301-444-5225 with questions
