Cruise for parents

Anonymous
I would like to give my parents a cruise vacation. Does anyone have ideas about the best cruise lines for seniors journeying the the Carribbean for about 4 nights. Should I use a travel agent for this or can I do it myself? Any useful information would be great. Thanks

This is so funny-we are talking about doing this for my parents as well, though they're not quite seniors.

Definitely do it yourself. There is so much information out there. Cruises in general are full of seniors, regardless of the cruise line, but as a rule Carnival is considered the line that is more of a party boat/family oriented. Carnival is also the least expensive line, however.

I think that you need to answer a few questions for yourself and then you can really narrow your research-where would they like to go? (Anywhere particular in the Caribbean? Western? Eastern?) Will they want to/are you willing to pay for them to fly? If so, they could leave from FL or even Puerto rico, but if not, consider booking them a cruise out of Baltimore (they go to the Caribbean or to Bermuda). WE went on one in early May and the weather was great all around.

I would definately suggest the use of a travel agent. They will give you more than booking directly with the cruise line and you will pay the same price. I recommend Seaward Travels at www.seawardtravels.com
