I'm looking for a fun little calendar that might expose my kids to some new or interesting words. Have thought about getting one with common foreign language terms, but it might be too much. My kids are little (K and 1st grade), but at a great age where its easy to make learning fun and games.
Does anyone know of a good word of the day calendar for that age group? |
| Go to Barnes & Noble, they should have a selection of such calendars. Spanish could be fun. |

I read about this idea in a book, and we've implemented it with our 4 yo.
We have a whiteboard on our fridge, and just write a new word each morning. She's still learning to read, so we do simple words for her to sound out. But, that'd probably work for older kids too? Just sign up for a word of the day email or something, or just pick a new Spanish word every day? |

My 2nd grader and I decide together on our walk to school what the Word of the Day will be. We take turns so he has some buy-in.
The word he chose yesterday was "skidmark." |
