| Over the holidays all of the women in my family get together and exchange gifts. There's no picking names. We just buy gifts in the $20-30 range. We're all so diverse that it's hard to come up with ideas. Any gift ideas that will appeal to everyone? Ages range from 20 to 70. We have singles, divorcees, no kids, lots of kids... |
| Orchid or jade plant. Some kind of yummy gourmet chocolate or other gourmet items like fancy fruit spreads; Rodmans has a good selection of random, imported candy, cookies, and other treats. Scarf/shawl. A kitchen item that someone wouldn't buy for herself (ex. my SIL is a baker but never would spend money on madelaine pans, so I got her those last year). Gift certificate to the movies ($30 gets you two tickets, popcorn and a soda). Nice bottle of wine. Cookbook. |

A good book?
A gift basket with all the ingredients to make a fun recipe (include the recipe!). Like PP said, include a utensil most cooks don't have (a friend gave me one of those long narrow graters/zesters as a hostess gift -- I use it all the time!) This seems like an opportunity to get really creative and fun! |
