My OBGYN informed me that I probably will not have a third trimester ultrasound. Have other people had the same experience? |
No, I had 2. One at 32 weeks and one at 37. The 32 week is standard for my practice, the other was because my baby measured so large at 32 wks. |
I had one at 20 weeks and that was it. |
My insurance will cover 2 standard: one at 20 weeks and one at 36-37 weeks. I also had one at 26 weeks because of a complication that was seen on the 20 week ultrasound. |
I had two or three in the third trimester, but only because I was measuring big and they had trouble finding the heartbeat a couple of times. If it makes you uncomfortable, you could ask for one, I don't know if that's allowed or not, but worth a shot. |
I had one at 32 weeks. No problems with the pregnancy; it's just routine in my doctor's practice to have one then to check on growth. I will not have one again unless there is a problem. My insurance covered it and I was thrilled for another chance to see our baby!
It's just as common not to have one after the 20-week unless one is needed for a specific reason, though. Personally, I was really grateful for the opportunity to see one more time that everything is fine. |
Just one at 20 weeks with my practice. |
I did with my last pregnancy because I was measuring very large and to check on things after I went past my due date. I just had my 20 week with my second pregnancy and don't expect to have any more (hopefully) if everything goes smoothly. |
I'm 37 weeks now and haven't had one since 20 weeks. My doc says I won't unless there's a specific reason to do so. The only reason I really want one is to confirm the sex of the baby! |
Only because I was measuring large and had too much amniotic fluid. Otherwise I wouldn't have wanted one. |
I didn't have one after the 20 week sono for my first pregnancy. Unless there is a problem, there won't be another for this one either. |
I only had one because of an abnormality that had been spotted at the 20 week sono. |
I had one at 35 weeks to confirm size and position of baby, check fluid level. Because baby is breech now, they will check again in week 39. |
last pregnancy I had one at 40w due to going overdue and to check on fluid levels.
with this pregnancy, I have a sizing one at 36w. it depends on your provider. |
I had one at 36 weeks because I have a kidney problem and they wanted to make sure the baby was doing okay and had enough fluid. FYI, they did not confirm the sex at this ultrasound; they said it is harder to see much because the baby is so big. You see a lot more at the 20-week ultrasound. But it was nice to know that everything was okay. |
