Hand, foot and mouth

My little guy has a mild case of hand, foot and mouth. I am a SAHM and am wondering how long I should keep him away from other kids. What have you done in the past?

My son had this last month. Our pediatrician said that once the fever was gone, he was no longer contagious. (In our case, the same day. The spots stuck around another day or two.)

OP here - I am glad to hear you say that. I read on the internet that kids could still spread it for weeks... I am going to call my ped. tomorrow, but just wanted to hear what other's did.

I was told to keep my child away from other children for a few days. I don't think the same day a fever breaks is safe. They need to be fever-free for 24 hours.
