Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers

Hi,
My son is 6 months old and I am thinking of getting new stroller for him. We have been using the car-seat with the 'strap-n-go' stroller and it is been fine so far. We live on the 3rd floor (no elevator), so it has to be light-weight and smaller (we'll probably store it in the back of the car). Any advice based on your experience? Thanks. |
You might want to look into the Maclaren strollers...many of them are lightweight and sturdy, but you cannot use the infant seat in them, although I'm guessing you don't need to anymore as he probably has good head control now. We have the Volo and really like it, it weighs nothing.
Maclarens are very easy to fold and, I believe, among the lightest strollers around. We also like our Volo, but it doesn't recline. I think most other Maclarens do.
i've used the maclaren triumph since my son was six months. he's 3.5 now. has been great. sturdy, easy to fold, we did alot of travelling with it too. only drawbacks are hard to access basket + not a great sunshade, although i think they have improved them since the 2005 model we have.
Another recommendation for the Maclaren Volo.
I like the Combi.
We have the Chicco and like it. I had the Volo and didn't like it - could never get the straps tight enough. I ended up selling it on this site.

Love the Maclaren Volo! It weighs 8 lbs. and very sturdy. Easy to fold-with one hand.
Don't get a Combi. I knew someone who worked at Buy Buy Baby and was told they get a lot returns-they don't hold up. |
We have the Chicco umbrella stroller too. We really like it; it's a nice option instead of a Maclaren (we didn't want to spend a lot of $$ on a stroller because we use a wrap or carrier most of the time). The basket isn't great compared to a snan n go, but I think you'll find that with most lightweight umbrella strollers.
the Maclaren will last longer than any of the other cheaper options, and if you use it heavily (like I do) you will want a Maclaren. I like my Triumph.
