I'm confused about something on this forum...

I was under another segment, & saw a post that was withdrawn for advertising a nanny service run by a Catholic service. Another poster said it was inappropriate...Are we not to post anything that is associated w/a particular religion? I didn't see the harm. I actually went looking for the post so that I could call them myself. I need a reasonably priced nanny.

I figured w/alot of the nonsense on this board, that this paled in comparison. So, what are the "not-so-obvious" do's & don'ts of this board?

It was an ad that had been posted repeatedly on numerous sections.

The particular section to which you refer (where there was an ironic comment about whether or not it was an appropriate section) was the Gay and Lesbian Parents section. The obvious irony is the presence of a post referring LGBT parents to a Catholic organization for nanny services when the current Pope has described LGBT parenting as violence against children.

Aside from it being the Gay & Lesbian section, why was it deleted in the first place from other sections? More important, did anyone get the info?

Why don't you post to Website Feedback and ask?

No, it's not that serious. I just thought this website is a tool for resources for parents. So, it seemed strange to me that a nanny service post would be deleted, & some of the other garbage on this board isn't.

The posts in question were posted in a number of inappropriate forums. For that matter, this post is in an inappropriate forum -- it belongs in website feedback rather than general parenting. Therefore, I'll be moving it.

If the descriptions of each forum are not clear, I welcome feedback to improve them. But, given that thousands of people manage to get their posts in the correct forums, the descriptions can't be that bad.

Ironically, despite the number of forums in which the posts about which you are asking were posted, not one was posted in any of the three forums that are specifically for nannies searching for positions.

ok, understood. On that note, can the deleted information be retrieved, & posted once in the appropriate forum for thos of us who may be able to use it? If so, what forum can it be found in?
