nice job, parents of big kids

Anonymous
If your elementary school aged kids were playing at Blueberry Hill Park in Derwood on Saturday morning around 11:00 am, then I hope you know what kind, sweet kids you have. We brought our two and a half year old daughter there to play, and she was so excited to see other kids. Not only did the big kids who were already on the climbing structure make room so she could get up there with them, they invited her to play tag with them, helped her figure out how the game worked, and slowed way down so she could tag them back when it was her turn to be "it." Your kids made her day and she is still talking about it three days later. For all the posts and articles about how mean older kids can be to one another, it was really nice to see how very nice they can be too. Nice work, and I hope our daughter grows up to be as kind and friendly as your kids.

Great post, OP. Wish I saw more of this

Aw, that "is" nice, and just reaffirms my feelings about Derwood (really like the neighborhood).

I was at mt Vernon this weekend and there were these two about ten year olds that were sitting in front of us at this little music show. My dd is two. One of the ten year olds quickly turned around and said, oh can she see...are we blocking her, and then quickly asked his friend to move down a little. I wanted to find his parents and tell them how considerate and thoughtful their little boy was.
