There are so many different models and I am not sure which is the best. Does anyone know? I would like one that would also steam vegetables but I don't necessarily need it to bake a cake .

I researched rice cookers a year or two ago and went with this Oyama one because it is all stainless steel (unlike most of the Zojirushi's). Cooks rice beautifully and a good price.

| Question for the PP: I bought a Sanyo rice cooker a few months ago that I was loving, but the non-stick coating is already scratched and now I want a stainless one. Does the Oyama cook brown rice well? Thanks. |

DH didn't used to like brown rice but now does. It does have a ridiculously long cooking time, but it has a timer so we just set it in advance. I've really only used it for rice so I don't know about veggies. Ours has a nonstick liner but we got it a few years ago; they may have changed that. Our liner is still in great shape. |
