| I am going to go eat lunch with my K tomorrow, and I was wondering if I have to pack my own lunch, or can I get lunch from the cafeteria? She has a lunch account with plenty of money in it already. |
| You can get lunch there, but I don't know if you can charge yours on her account. I'd bring the adult fee just in case. |
| You can get lunch there, but it's gross. Whenever I have lunch with my son, I don't actually have time to eat after I open 25 yogurt tubes, 50 milk boxes and get 75 spoons that kids forgot to get. |

I tried eating what they offer in the cafeteria. Yuck.
I pack my own lunch or get something from nearby. |
| Yes, I think I will just bring a sandwich. I thought it would save time. I wasn't going to volunteer this particular time, they have the volunteer slots filled. I was just going to sit and chat with my dd and her friend. She eats at the peanut free table - just her and another friend, and it's the first time my dd is getting school lunch. She really wants to have the cheese pizza. |

The majority of Americans will not like the school cafeteria food because it's not loaded with sugar, fat, or salt. Yes, I've lived in the US my whole life so I'm being judgemental of our own unhealthy lifestyle.
I think the cafeteria food is healthy and pretty good. Bring in your own slop if you're not willing to change your diet. |

I eat the cafeteria food when I have lunch with my daughter. I like that I can experience some of what my daughter's lunch options are.
Some of the food is kind of yucko and some is actually pretty good--better than what we had when I was in school. There's usually a protein option, bread-like component and several fruits & veggies as a side dish. The schools frown on parents bringing in anything like fast food. |
| everytime I visit my son during lunch time, I will sit down with him (and the class) and eat the school lunch. and sometimes I even showed him which one was a more healthier choice. it is not about how much I like it, it is about our kids. if our kids have to each the school lunch everyday, you each only once every quarter (or a year), I dont think you should complain. if you really think they are yucky, please pack your own lunch for your kid(s). |
| School lunches are decent. They are healthy and balanced. I have had lunch twice so far with my K student (which I charged to her account). It was fine! |
| Plan on eating before or after you eat the meal there. I've gone the last two years for the thanksgiving meal at DS' school and it's not filling for an adult. Or bring lunch for both of you so you don't have to waste time in line. |
| Sounds like your lunch already occurred, OP, but I'm posting for future FYI. The lunch lady would not let me psy from my child's on-line acct. Bring cash. |
