Sorry for way TMI, but where else can I ask this but an anonymous forum? The last 2 days I've been super itchy down there, not in the vagina, but around. I have no discharge or anything else abnormal. Any ideas what could be causing it? Or how to relieve it? I'm thinking it might be from a different kind of lubrication we used on Monday, but I'm not sure.
Thanks - this is really embarrassing. |
Hi OP, I have had this problem, though more so at times around the anus area ... For either location, I have applied Vagisil, to help sooth, and it seems to help control itchiness.
Lotrimin
Agree about the Lotrimin; my ob/gyn has given me antifungal cream for that area before when I complained of itching but there was no infection. You could also be allergic to the different lube.
This happened to me and my doc ordered Monistat. Worked like a charm.
I've had this problem. Monistat but make sure you do the entire treatment. It will go away.
OP here. Thanks everyone. I just started my period today. Can I use monistat or lotrimin during my period? I've never used it before.
Yes. Sometimes I have a bad reaction to certain types of tp.
OP, I mentioned about Vagisil. I've not tried either of the other products mentioned, but I think Vagisil is less expensive and less restrictive (unlike a set treatment course such as Monistat). In any case, just another option if you were curious.
Monistat works for me very well. Be sure to use the 7-day treatment is the most effective. Good luck and you should not be embarrassed this is very common to have it.
Make sure the problem is yeast before you use Monistat.
