Any recommendations for doulas in or near Silver Spring? Just working on putting a list of options together. If you can provide any info (why you liked them, cost, or any that you would suggest avoiding) that will help too!

The nice thing about the Doula Match website is that you can read reviews of all the different doulas right there. It's sort of like Yelp reviews, except for doulas.

You also narrow the search by your zip code and due date. The doulas that aren't available should already be filtered out on the search so you don't waste your time emailing them.

It all depends on when your due date is! I've found that most doulas are now booked up Feb/March. The Doula Match website (http://doulamatch.net/) allows you to search by city and zip code and availability, which is a nice time saver.

I agree that Sara Baum is great! You should definitely check out her website (http://www.sarabaumdoula.com/) and see's available for your due date.

I had a great experience recently with Jenny Corbett (opencirclebirth.com). She's a newer doula, and I was very impressed by her dedication during a wretchedly long labor.

We were thrilled with the care we received from By Your Side Birth Services (http://www.byyoursidebirth.com/). They used to be the onsite doulas at Holy Cross, and maintain a high level of respect at that facility.
