It's really not worth the time to rebut that article. As has generally been the case, the entire thrust of the article is that the protesters are rich, entitled, poorly-dressed, and smelly. It's a caricature. Here is an article that actually addresses the issues (hat tip to whomever posted this link in another thread):

http://www.businessinsider.com/what-wall-street-protesters-are-so-angry-about-2011-10?op=1

Unfortunately, that article is likely to be well over the head of anyone who thinks that body oder is relevant to political discourse (and, yes, we do have such a poster here).

Totally agree. I actually sent my mother this link. She said she couldn't be bothered reading the "liberal media." ??

She trusts Fox and the links they send her. Reasoned arguments on my part fail, as apparently I live in an Ivory Tower. (that I paid for completely, for what its worth.)

It keeps them distracted from hating gay people and muslims. Let them get worked up over hippie protestors. At least they want the attention.

Irony aside, difference-based hate is an interesting problem. Doesn't seem that any culture's ever been free of this. Wouldn't it be nice if we could re-direct this hate in a constructive direction? Like: "let's eradicate that hateful air pollution!" or "let's get rid of that despicable, hateful starvation thing that's killing hundreds of thousands of people."

That's where I was. I only got a few paragraphs in. It's a rant, not an article.
