The Beauty of Blogs

I admit I am one of those people who wants to hurl at the thought of facebook or twitter and all the bragging and lying and self-absorption and such, but blogs are another story. This is a trend I hope is hear to stay and I think it's a beautiful thing. Coping with the loss of a loved one? There are many great blogs out there. Your child was just diagnosed with autism? There are blogs to make you laugh, blogs to teach you about resources, etc. Need some fitness tips or ideas for decorating? How about these blogs? I could go on and on. All these people out there can reach out and help strangers and even connect with them by sharing their own triumphs and challenges and tips. My list of blogs I follow keep growing. I look forward to reading each new installation. Sometimes I laugh so hard I spit up my coffee. Other times I cry so hard my husband starts to suggest I get off the net already. Twitter and facebook have done nothing to enhace my life so I avoid them, but blogs are another story. Thank you bloggers out there!

That is all.

I agree - (some) blogs are awesome! Many of them are like episodes in a soap opera or chapters in a novel - except that they are real (or excellent fakes, at any rate!). My husband doesn't get it though!

Infertility blogs got me through a very dark part of my life. Now that I've been diagnosed with Celiac's Disease I'm reigniting my passion for blogs.
