No. I think fewer and fewer families are opting for private middle school (especially those with younger ones in elementary school who have athletic talent). Many of the best players Landon has did not enroll in Landon until high school (or some in MS).

The more and more options now for athletes, especially cheaper options. Landon used to have its pick of players but now they are battling to get kids to come.

You clearly have no idea how it works in the Baltimore based MIAA.

You need to learn how to read. Nowhere in the post did I say Landon (or any school) shouldn't be on the lookout for new talent. I was that Landon is increasingly reliant on HS enrollment vs kids who've been there for awhile.

I guess they don't teach reading comprehension in the MIAA.

As a 4th or 5th generation DC native who has happily lived and worked in Baltimore for 15 years, I love both cities. Baltimore's inferiority complex toward Washington always makes me laugh, as if this scruffy town should somehow be the equal of a global capital. Instead, folks here should just appreciate what we have and realize that in some ways we can never be equivalent to DC (for better and worse).

I feel the same way about DC lacrosse comparing itself to Baltimore when I read this thread.

Baltimore is Detroit in a different time zone.

However, you are right that DC lacrosse is not the equivalent of Baltimore lacrosse yet.

I was not the one that posed the question. But why not ask? A thread that has had over 100,000 views and 2,000 replies? This may be a forum for DC moms, but this particular thread seems to attract a lot of dads, sometimes with well-informed posts, more often than not just laugh out loud crazy.

As for last weekend's tournaments, none that I was aware of were top flight so I wasn't really paying attention. The one I attended had "elite" teams from the midwest, CA and the south, and they all got crushed by the DMV and LI teams that I was watching. I think they were mainly tuneups anyway for this coming weekend and next.
