It’s everyone in the county’s business that FCPS is running a segregated school. This school must change or end.

Especially because there is some compelling information that the admissions process is being compromised. Per the other thread, how is it possible that one company is responsible for prepping 25% of the children admitted to TJ? And that company appears to ONLY prep children with Indian surnames?

Not every prep company is segregated, but this particular company appears to be. And the head of the company spoke at the LCPS school board meeting when they were considering scaling back the number of LCPS students they would pay to attend TJ. He rallied his students and their parents to all speak and forced the school board to backtrack on their plans. It is mind-boggling that FCPS, LCPS, and PWCS have all allowed the prep industry to dictate the admissions process for a public school.

Great- end it and you can bet that all the struggling schools will struggle even more because parents that moved here for that school would be moving on and taking their tax money with them.

But I guess that is the point

The SJW/woke/white guilt idiots won't be satisfied until everyone is equally mediocre in their pursuit of equity. Of course their children aren't included, do as I say not as I do and all that.

Anyone who’d leave because they can no longer send their kid to a segregated high school is someone the county would be better off without. Whoever takes their place will also pay taxes.

Someone should let Hannah Natanson at the Post know about this. This is scandalous.

FCPS is probably the biggest draw. Take away TJ and AAP and you wont have the interest to live here. Which means the housing values will drop. Which means the property tax that pays for struggling schools will drop as well. But hey, every one will be in the same sinking boat.

And the rich and upper middle class will still have their kids in better schools.

This company should be investigated as well as the students who may have participated in cheating.

Other than that - nothing is wrong with parents advocating for sending their children to better schools.

That’s a slightly refined version of “without me, you’re nothing,” and equally unconvincing. Many would have more confidence in FCPS if it actually lived by its values and got rid of TJHSST.

Nothing is wrong with those who live near TJ and would like to see their kids attend the nearby school, not one on the other side of 395 and 495.

Over 25% of the incoming class of 2024 prepped with this company. How do you propose that we fix this? It is what it is and FCPS will not want to call attention to it OR actually fix it.

I'm not sure that we want to preserve a place like this.

That actually sounds like *your* argument. Otherwise you wouldnt be trying so hard to claw back high performing students to neighborhood schools.

Moving the goal posts now. So now the issue is the location?

How many things have to be glaringly wrong with TJHSST before FCPS admits it’s become an embarrassment?

Having the #1 school in the country is not an embarrassment. Of all the silly arguments...
