WH intern flashes notorious "white power" hand gesture in White House intern Xmas pic with DJT

The White Power symbol isn't the same. It's similar to the 'OK' sign with the index finger and thumb touching, but the remaining fingers are deliberately splayed out to represent a 'W' with the index finger, thumb and forearm representing the 'P' spelling out the initials for White Power.

And "this kid" was specifically working for Stephen Miller who has many strong ties to white supremacists like Richard Spencer, who, along with the alt-right movement on 4chan were actively promoting that hand sign.

Excellent observation.
But the intern has a jewish heritage. All nazi related social movements have Jews/people with Jewish heritage listed for elimination on top of their lists even before blacks and slavs.

I think he's probably just a dumb kid ignorantly copying the people around him, but also agree with the comment above. Who knows these days?

There is an undercurrent of antisemtism here. As you say, a lot of effort to make a young Jewish guy look bad. Otherwise, why was his religion brought up so early in the thread? I wonder if it the same PP who posted something about "young right-wing Jews" elsewhere, and not in a flattering light.

I think when someone is being accused of being a neo-nazi, the fact that they're Jewish is relevant.

One would also think sexual alignment would be relevant as to whether someone is anti-gay or not as well, but there have been numerous instances of conservatives who are publicly on the forefront of vicious anti-gay rhetoric and legislation ending up themselves being caught up in gay sex scandals. As examples Larry Craig, Ted Haggard, David Dreier, Mark Foley, there have been many. And I would also point to folks like Milo Yiannopoulos as well, who is gay but who is a huge cheerleader for the most staunchly anti-gay.

In the murk of the conservative world, up is down, down is up, and not all is what it seems.

In summary, YES it is entirely, very much possible in the conservative world that a Jew could end up promoting white supremacists. His being a Jew rules absolutely nothing out.

Please. The "conservative world?" Now your bigotry toward conservatives is showing. You act as though these fringe hate groups, comprising maybe 1% of the population, are part of mainstream Republicans.

Most conservative Jews are Orthodox, or observant Conservatives (in the religious meaning) and identify strongly as Jews. Believe me, they are not marching alongside neo-Nazis yelling "kill the Jews." It is not happening, and I don't see any legitimate reason you keep perpetrating this lie.

Read about the "Alt Lite" vs. the "Alt Right." The reason for the schism is due, primarily, to the latter's explicit white superiority claims and anti-Semitism. The Alt Lite rejects the white superiority/anti-Semitic aspects of the Alt Right while still keeping the rest of the bigotry against Muslims/brown people and misogyny. I think you would find most of Breitbart's writers identifying more with the Alt Lite.

I've been doing some reading. The alt-right group is not racist, and includes includes participation by POC as well. They are a strongly nationalistic, far-right group, but certainly not made up of the neo-Nazis or KKK types.

Wow. You sure had to search high and low for examples. One is some dude from Britain, and the other has a Jewish wife. So you found a couple of outliers as you searched the globe.

What I object to is this broad brush being used to paint Jews being part of these groups, as if that were a fairly common occurrence, You are perpetrating negative sentiment toward Jews by pulling out rare anomalies.

Typed the wrong thing. Naturally the act-right is racist. They're made up of Nazis and KKK types. I was referring to the alt-lite, whom other posters are claiming that Jews join (with an isolated example or two). The alt-lite group, which I never heard of until 2 hours ago, includes POC in their ranks as well. They are not racist.....just strongly nationalistic, taken to the very extreme.

Huh? No one painted a broad brush about Jewish Americans. The vast majority abhor DJT, the Alt Right, and voted for Clinton. This one intern - of a Jewish American background - made a white power hand gesture and then tried to use "...but but I'm Jewish!" excuse to paint himself as innocent. He's an idiot and should never had the privilege to work in the WH. It seriously calls into question the vetting procedures of this White House.

Mike Peinovich, aka Mike Enoch, is one of the most prominent writers on the Alt Right. He was profiled in that NY Daily News link. He is probably 2nd only to Richard Spencer in terms of public notoriety. He's a very central character to the Alt Right movement and is very well known. So stop pretending like he's some unknown individual.

Why such insistence on claiming Jews are part of the alt-lite? Why not talk about blacks who also participate?

Didn't something like 25% or 30% of Jewish people vote for Trump? Surely you're not accusing them all of sympathizing with neo-Nazis? just because they voted for Trump rather than Hillary? That's quite a scathing accusation.

And I never heard of Mike Enoch. I have heard of Richard Spencer, of course. As unfathomable as it is to you, I am a conservative who has no ties to, and little knowledge of, the players in these hate groups.

FYI: You're the only person in here equating a vote for DJT as a vote for neo-Nazis. I never said that and I don't believe it. I think DJT fooled a lot of gullible people.

Except you said nobody is painting Jews with a broad brush (as far as affiliating with hate groups) because the majority of them abhor DJT and voted Clinton. My inference was that you were saying most Jews are not sympathetic to hate groups since most voted for Hillary. The implication seemed to be that those who voted for DJT, however, were the ones who are or could be among those horrible groups. If I misunderstood you, that's a relief..

Blah blah blah. I didn't "search high and low" at all. I just recalled reading the tons of press about Mike Enoch (story #2) at the beginning of 2017, because Enoch is pretty big in that world and it was a pretty big story. When I searched for that story, I ran across the other one from October, and it also seems to have gotten lots of US press (including FoxNews apparently).

The point is, it's not completely out of the ordinary for someone to support one of these alt-right hate memes, even if the person is part of the group that's hated. Jared and Invanka are Jewish, yet they are working for the Grand Dragon Trump himself. Same with a handful of others, including that Omarasa person until she got kicked out.

It doesn't strike me as impossible at all that this kid is some far right asshole who flashed a Pepe sign, even if he's Jewish.

Lots of black people flash the a-ok sign. And lots of white people. Lots of americans in general.

You're nuts.
