Right, because you are surely entitled to a share of the wealth that someone else has already created. Assume that you love estate taxes as well. Everybody hand over their money for the greater good! |

We have a hhi of $2M and a net worth of nearly $10M.
I just replaced my 5 year old purse with one from Macy's that was $60. |
| ^^ Very 'old money' of you. |
Actually, rich people know that it's not. |
Some people are just not into purses. My wife just isn't. She gets a new Mercedes every two years, but is not into purses, designer clothing, or jewelry except for the huge rock on her engagement ring. |
Op here- your 5yo has a purse! We would never cut it
|
As someone with a HHI of $120k, this thread depresses me and reminds me of the many places I've fallen short in life. Thanks OP.
|
| Poor here. Doesn't depress me but I still think about the horse being flown around to meet the girl on vacations. |
150k HHI here and feel like a peasant |

1) Two country clubs here, just because... and do not use all summer because they are at summer home where they belong to a 3rd.
2) Forget they are rich and complain about the cost of things (sunscreen??) and talk about the great deal they just got at Costco. Seriously? You live in a $3 million house and have a second home. |
| As a pet groomer, I would say 9 out of 10 rich people are penny hogs. (From what we see) We always know who will complain on price or have a poorly cared for dog. Usually by looking at the purse or the car they drive. They do not tip a dollar. They complain about 1-3 dollar increases per year, they refuse to brush their pets and so on. Literally they will spend 10 minutes in the lobby complaining about a $60 once a month expense. They also stretch out appointments that should be 4 weeks to 6-8-12 weeks. Yet, they will have a brand new 70-100k car every other year. Now middle class people are awesome! They take good care of the pets that come in and they tip $5-10. Coming in on a normal 4-5 week basis. |
And that is about three times the median national average. |
Just stop. The median national house price is also $188K while the median DC house price is $545K, so things here just cost more, OKAY? |
How do you think they have a second home? By blowing they money on you? |
+1 Rich people do their own thing. They are not concerned with who is carrying what purse, that's for damn sure. Rich people usually drive their cars for a long time, instead of blowing money every few years on a car. |
