residency cheater

But it's quite obvious that you are a bitter shrew. A bitter, race-baiting, whiny shrew. I'm still not convinced these masses of boundary cheates exist. And saying logical things to you like, "sometimes kids have more than one residence," or, "sometimes people with md plates pick up kids in dc," make no impression whatsoever. You think you would at least have the social graces to keep your psycho obsession with stalking poor kids from pg a secret, but no. Perhaps it is all you have. Although, let me say it's a low, low bar, gaming the system to get into a dcps. Why aren't they going for moco? Or parts of virginia? these imaginary children whosent guardians have infinite time and gas to bring them anywhere?

If by "poor" kids you mean their families don't have a lot of money, that's not generally the case. These are middle class families dropping their kids off on the way to work. That's why they aren't going to MoCo or Virginia. And more importantly, MoCo and NoVa don't have free PK, do they now?

I think you have no clue what the reality is.

Yawn. I thought these threads popped up in the fall.

I'm not the poster that you're responding to, but you protest too much. I've suspected many, many kids over here in Ward 5 of being in DCPS schools fraudulently. When they say they go to Burroughs but they live in Maryland, it's pretty damn obvious. Since I'm not a parent at that school nor interested in "stalking" kids, as you say it, I've never reported anyone. But I would be very glad if someone who had some hard facts followed up. Yes, it sucks for the kids. But it's unconscionable that their parents have put them in that position.

I really don't understand people who defend that kind of behavior.

I think many UMC white people come from a nuclear family background and don't understand that some of these kids have different family situations. That is my experience at least.

"Descendants of native Washingtonians?" Like Powhatan or Algonquian?

Gentrification has squeezed a lot of multi-generational Washingtonians out of their homes. Even parts of Ward 7&8 are not affordable for many low-income families. After reading Ta-Nehisi Coates' "The Case for Reparations", perhaps we owe these kids this education. Read the story. These discussion have lots of racial overtones to them and bear a resemblance to debates about housing restrictions and school desegregation in previous eras.

No one is forcing these multigenerational families to move. They're happy to cash those checks and take their 4000 sq feet out in MD, so don't cry me a river about the natives being forced to do anything. You make the decision - you live with it. Don't act like I'm a bitter shrew because I want DC seats to go to DC kids.

Not PP, but no, THAT's not why you are a bitter shrew.

One thing is for sure, the taxpayers of DC don't owe the, reparations if they live in Maryland.

As for "reparations" more generally, arguably they were already paid -- with the blood of Union soldiers.

Oh wow. Your understanding of the history of black people in this country is missing a few chapters.

Real Estate Broker here.

I've had numerous transactions where a family held onto Grandma's house (in DC) after she was deceased for the school issue. It's not just pre-K. It's easy drop off from work, better schools (although not that good), and tradition (what has always been done -- like church parking).

But DC Vacant Real Property Tax has changed things. The taxes on a vacant house are so high, it forces the sale. And change. But 3-6 siblings end up with about $100K each, depending on the property.

It's not always money, it's culture.

NP. If I'm paying reparations I want them to go to the black people of DC, NOT MARYLAND!!! Let the investigations of cheaters begin!

If DC and PG got together as the state of New Columbia or New Africana, then all of this would be moot.

I didn't realize kkk dad posted this far from you be mom.

I would prefer to give reparation seats at highly regarded DC schools to DC resident AAs. Not PG Countians!!! We've got enough of 'em here IN DC! Off with the PG cheaters heads!

Agree! I live in DC and my kid attends a charter. if I was to try a residency cheat scam it would not to get into a DCPS or even my highly touted HRCS. I would attempt the scam at one of VA or MD's magnet schools. Those schools at least have a history of high performance. Very few DCPS and non of DCPCS have such history. Why cheat to get into DCPS. Go all the way and go for MOCO immersion or magnet schools. Yes, many people who constantly raise the residency cheat issue are race baiting shrews.

Hmm, I smell a lie. Why are they contacting you if they don't plan on selling the house. What transactions would they need from you.
