That's stupid talk, "semi-normal" prices mean lower prices which in fact means less desirable.

When price is high it is desirable, when price is lower it is less desirable.

Put that in your walkability pipe and smoke that.

Where is 22205?

I'm in 22201 Clarendon. Very expensive walkability.

The reason it is expensive is density which brings walkability.

Density -- and regulations. The (liberal) voters in Arlington have elected County Boards over the past decade that are all in favor of walkability. New building? Pay for the nicer sidewalks and bike paths.

Yes and proximity to DC and Metro, bike share, schools, so few SFHs for demand.

Really? Not in Ashton Heights, Lyon Village or Lyon Park.

We've been looking in LV for a year and a half and there's been nothing. I was bummed to find a house I loved sold privately.

Yes- three new SFH in my neighborhood would be considered a glut since inventory is usually 'zero' each month.

Thanks - but none in Lyon Village. We are committed to that area for particular schools and location/proximity.

Everything about LV feels small to me. Maybe there's not much inventory there, but there aren't many homes there to begin with.

I think you have mastered the economic concept of supply and demand. Congratulations

12:01 - OMG, what are they doing to lovely Lyon Park?! That house is horrible. It's so, well, Lyon Village it hurts (over 3500 SF on a .11/acre lot).

+1

Close in arlington houses are turning into such trash. Low quality builds with no character and absolutely no respect for historic architecture. Big s-boxes on zero lot line properties. So gauche.
