Most recent PP here.....anyone have a good PCP to recommend? Mine became a members only clinic and I don't want to deal with that if I can avoid it (DC or close in)?
Do you need a referral to go to the OB and all that? Or, once you are pregnant that's it? It's good to see good reviews for MD IPA here..... |
I am in the similar situation. My husband is a federal employee, and we need to find a plan that covers at least, infertility meds, if not iui as well. Can you help me with any info you may have? You can reach me at six one nine five eight one six nine one eight. |
Does anyone know if MDIPA covers Singles? i have tried IUI through Shady Grove 3 times unsuccessfully. The next step is IVF. |
I am pretty sure both MDIPA and Aetna require a marriage certificate. |
I dont think that matters. |
Has anyone used all 3 IVF cycles with MDIPA and switched to Aetna to continue IVF treatments. I am a federal employee. |
PP, why do you ask? I'm in the process of doing just that. |
Just wanted to know if its truly like u get 3 cycles with each insurance. Didn't see anything prohibiting it? |
I've seen posts on this board confirming 3 chances with each insurance. I never thought I would need that, but here I am. I'll be able to confirm next year once I actually go through the process. |
OK I'm starting in January wishing u baby dust!

Does anyone live in Va, but have an employer in DC who offers only CareFirst Blue Preferred and has fertility coverage? My employer said CareFirst does not offer any riders for fertility coverage for DC small businesses. |
I have switched to MDIPA from BCBS so that I can have coverage for IVF. I am considering switching my RE from GWU to Shady Grove. I've been asking Shady Grove for information on their contracted rate for both IUI and IVF with MDIPA and the financial folks there will not give me an information until my new policy is effective on January 14th (even though I have already received the card). I also have been asking them how many IUIs I would need to have in order to qualify for IVF and this too they refuse to provide me information on until my new insurance is in effect. With GWU we've done a number of IUIs (natural cycle) and qualify for IVF automatically due to low morphology (<4% - norm is 5% at GWU). At Shady Grove we wouldn't qualify for IVF immediately because their norm is 4%. Does anyone who have used Shady Grove have any answers that they can share as I am trying to make plans and getting absolutely no where with the financial folks at Shady Grove (I can't understand why the delay given that this is a federal town and I know they deal with many MDIPA patients so know what the insurance allows).... |
I did IVF immediately but I have blocked tubes, so that probably got me out of IUI.
The cost of IVF with insurance for me was about 3,500 without drugs; I was on the max drugs and that was minimal (less than 500). GL! |
PP again- if you do an archive search this very question was asked and it might help to see the variety of responses. |
Heads up if you switched and want to start a cycle for January....new insurance doesn't kick in until the 13th.
