How to install Chicco KeyFit infant seat without base?

Anonymous
We're about to leave for the weekend with our baby and are planning to just take his infant seat (Chicco KeyFit 30) and leave the base home. But the slots that the seatbelt thread through are covered by the car seat cover. Is there a trick to accessing these? Any help ASAP would be most appreciated as this just occurred to me & we are leaving for the airport in an hour. TIA!!!!!

Have you read the instruction manual?

I guess googling CHICCO KEYFIT 30 MANUAL would be faster than posting here and waiting for a response...

The last two pages that PP linked discusses installation without seatbelt and aircraft use.

YouTube sometimes helps as well. Videos can be easier then pictures. If there's no videos about it on Youtube, try the carseat manufacturer's website.

just pull up the seat cover (you don't have to take if off completely) and thread the belt through.

It looks like the seat belt guides are supposed to be showing through the carseat cover. I'm assuming there's a couple of gaps that they poke through.

Installation looks simple - it's the same as the Graco Snugride.
