Madison vs. Oakton HS?

Is there any meaningful difference between these schools? I think both have strong academics. What about culture? Stress, competition, parental involvement, athletics, snobbery, etc.
Also, are there any better/worse feeder elem/middle schools? We are looking to move out of our Reston TH before our oldest starts K... Thanks! |

| I live in Vienna and I don't really think you can go wrong with either pyramid. Oakton is bigger and there is also what I call "super wealthy" at the school. While there are certainly some in the Madsion pyramid that fit the label "super wealthy", it is more pronounced at Oakton. You may want to base your decision on the house and commute and if you want to live closer to the Town of Vienna. |

There are roughly the same number of "super-wealthy" students at both schools. Oakton may seem a bit wealthier because the "super-wealthy" students who attend Oakton tend to live in homes on larger lots, but that's about it. Main differences, as far as I can tell, are that Oakton is larger and has better sports teams, and Madison is near the Town of Vienna, so it has more of a local community vibe. Otherwise, they're very similar.
