where to buy caramel for caramel apples

Anonymous
I swear it has gotten so hard in the past couple of years to find either just plain caramel or the kits that also come with popsicle sticks. I have found some small things of caramels, but there it's only enough to make like 5 apples. Where are the big bags of wrapped caramels that Kraft or Brachs used to make? I haven't checked Giant or Safeway yet so maybe they have them.

Yeah, just check a regular grocery store like Giant or Safeway and the bags of Kraft Caramels should be there...I haven't looked yet this year...but check the candy isle, I would guess on the bottom shelf...

For some reason I'm picturing them at my local Harris Teeter on the bottom shelf, right next to marshmallows...but different stores might vary...

Our grocery puts them in the baking aisle - with marshmallows, choc chips etc.

Ok...don't know where you live OP, but I just checked the Harris Teeter website for their "Express Lane" for the Arlington store, and it has the Kraft Caramels...

The apples are sooooo much better if you make the caramel from scratch yourself--caramel is only sugar and butter after all. Because the homemade caramel is super hot it cooks the apple a little bit when you coat it. This method produces the tastiest apples ever.

I found the Kraft bags at Target near the chocolate chips.

And you can get the popsicle sticks in the craft section at Wal-mart.

Yes! I remember those. I think they were called Wrapples. They weren't as good as the caramels you melted yourself.

They have Circular Sheets of Caramel inside our store in the front near some Apples.I'll buy Kraft Caramels and make Caramel Apples soon. I thought people make them using Brown Sugar and hot water.

I've see the caramel wrappers at Walmart. At my local stores, the caramel apple kits are in produce... Right near the apples.

God, just make the caramel yourself.
