IF your DC scored high on the PIQ?

We just moved from DC to a small city that will test our 3.3 year old with the WPPSI for free for their free full time gifted pre-K program. She just makes the cutoff. She is definitely advanced in language, and I would imagine her doing well on the verbal side of the test. She has a huge vocab and speaks like most 6-year-olds. She started sounding out words at 2.5. But, how can I gauge how well she might do on the other part of the test? She hates puzzles and drawing. She is probably behind in fine motor skills.

What does the child who scores 95 or above on the performance side of the WPPSI look like? Are they particularly good at things like puzzles? For a 3yo, what is good at puzzles? Or, is your child just quick? DD is very quick, has a phenomenal memory, and needs little repetition to learn new things. To be clear, I am not asking if she is gifted. I am wondering how this bright extremely verbal girl will fair on the non-verbal questions. We are on the fence about testing so young. Thank you.

Why not just take the test and find out? At that age I assume she will hardly know what testing is or what it means..

Go ahead and test. It's better than asking strangers who haven't met your kid how they think she will do! And, at that age, it's not a test (unless you make it one) from the child's POV -- it's a play session of sorts.

If it's free and you like the program then I can't see what the big deal is. The test usually takes about 30 - 45 minutes in that age group and she'll probably just think it's a fun game.
