Kid Friendly Restaurant near National Zoo

Anonymous
Can't believe I am asking this since I spent years living in both Woodley and Cleveland Parks, but that was a lifetime ago and now I am a suburbanite who only visits the Zoo via the Rock Creek entrance...

Anyway, meeting up with 2 families and kids before hitting the zoo on Sunday at lunchtime. Can anyone recommend a place for us to meet nearby?

TIA

In Cleveland Park, Firehook, Nam Viet, Spices, Paragon Thai--I'm sure I'm missing some. In Woodley Park, Lebanese Taverna is the first that comes to mind.

Open City in Woodley

Not walkable, but Two Amys is a short drive from the zoo.

Nam viet or tackle box (although quality at the CP TB has been unreliable). Nam viet is always solid--and fast.

Dinos in CP is great. Kids get three courses for $1/year of age (ie, the total cost for feeding my 3 and 6 years olds is $9). They have a good Sunday brunch, and the rest of the menu is usually both innovative and great. I wouldn't go there in a party where kids outnumber adults, but I've brought my family there many times and they've always been friendly.

There's a Chipotle and Lebanese Taverna not far from the Woodley Park metro stop.
