Help neede understanding the school system

Hello
I am new here, my daughter is in 7th grade at Mary Ellen henderson, Falls Church, we are new to the country and the school system so totally confused.
She was placed in Algebra 7 after taking a placement test, but is struggling a bit, can anyone please tell me what level would that be?
Also I keep reading about AAP, what does that mean?

AAP is in Fairfax County, not in Falls Church city.

By all standard measures, Algebra 1 is typically a 9th grade course. Many students are ready for it in 8th grade, fewer in 7th, and some even take it in 6th.
If your daughter is having trouble with the class, you should discuss it with the teacher. There is no harm in taking pre-algebra as a 7th grader and algebra as an 8th grader.

Henderson MS is a great school and the administrators and faculty are very supportive of their students. Please talk to your child's teacher or her guidance counselor about your concern. I'm sure they'll do whatever is best for your daughter.
