Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
| For the past few weeks my 3 month DD would have her last feed at 8:30pm and be in bed by 9. She would then sleep until around 5 or 6 eat and then go back to sleep. We have started our nanny share this week and ever since my DD is now waking up earlier to feed. Two nights ago she woke up at 12:30 to feed and last night she woke up at 3:30. Is she just adjusting or are her sleep habits changing. |
| Is the nanny changing the way she puts your baby to sleep for daytime naps? I had a nanny who wanted to rock my 4 month old to sleep for naps and would only put him down when he was fast asleep. He had been sleeping for 10 hours a night and I was putting him down after nursing while he was still awake. When the nanny started, he began waking every 3 hours at night. I asked her to stop rocking him to sleep and then he began sleeping through the night again. |
| If she is waking up hungry, it could very well be a growth spurt. |
That's what I was thinking. You're very lucky to have a child who is sleeping from 9 to 5 at 3 months; this isn't all that common. But I would bet--assuming the nanny is feeding your DD the same amount and on the same schedule (approximately) that you did, that it's a growth spurt. Maybe you can add more to the bottles during the day... |
