$3K budget for a 10th anniversary ring: what would you get?

Anonymous
I love jewelry so I don't know what's wrong with me but I am having a hard time finding something. I'm looking for something up to $3K, isn't heavy on diamonds (I'm not a fan). I'd wear it on my right hand, not with my wedding set. I was thinking of a big blue topaz or aquamarine with small diamond accents. Other ideas?

Funny, I could have written this post!
Just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and I had a $3k budget for a right hand ring. We have three daughters, so I knew I wanted something pink. Got a three stone ring with a pink topaz in the middle and two small diamonds as accents. I love it and have been wearing it every day since I got it in July. I couldn't find anything I liked that was already made so the entire thing was custom. I used a gem cutter for the pink topaz and used Quest Jewelers in Farifax, VA to make the actual ring. Entire thing came in around $3100.

A big blue topaz would definitely be within budget. Topaz is very reasonable. Just be careful if you are hard on your jewelry, as it's one of the softer stones and can chip easily. My advice is decide on the color stone first and then do research (for example, in the pinks, there were so many that I never even knew existed, like Morganite, Spinel, etc.) Same for blue stones, green stones.

The other thing I considered was a Cartier trinity ring. It's three bands, one each of yellow, rose and white gold, symbolizing the past, present, future. Available in different widths and also with or without diamond accents. Well within your budget as well.

Good luck. What a fun project.

After 10 years of marriage you're buying yourself a $3K ring?

seems like a waste to me

Ignore the PP. You asked specifically about a ring, not opinions on whether it's a wasteful gift.

I do have to say that personally, I don't think that Cartier Trinity ring in the smallest width is worth it. DH and the kids gave it to me for Mother's Day and while I have small fingers (size 3.5), the bands are so slim even on me that the colors all blend together into one coppery look.

PS- I LOVE Quest!

handcrafted pieces are always great! Sorry OFF subject ladies!

I buy my BEAUTIFUL jewelry from a lady who handcrafts them and sells them at the Reston Market in ( Reston,VA) on Saturdays all summer. Her pieces are absolutely beautiful, elegant, affordable and they make a true "statement". I get compliments all the time, she's a very talented artisan!

The market has closed for the year (it is seasonal) but she sells them also on her website including other hair pieces. The of her jewelry is bellow:
