Graco Snugride or Baby Trend Flex Loc

Anonymous
I'm finidng conflicting information about these two carseats. If you registered for or have used one or the other, can you give me feedback on things like ease of use, weight, bulkiness.

Thanks!

Graco Snugride won't last you too long if you have a bigger baby. Do not know anything about the other one.

I thought the weight limits were the same for the Graco SnugRide and Baby Trend Flex Loc. I had the same question since both those car seats got top ratings from Consumer Reports.

Graco snug ride fits with their strollers and will safely hold the baby up to 22 lbs (or a certain length which I can't remember).

We used it and had no problems. DH had no problems installing the base into the car.

I don't have details on both BUT- we used the sungride-
check weight limit- it's helpful but not critical to get higher weight limit
also- check weight of carseat- we got the snugride since it was the lightest when we bought it.. that is HUGE- add a 18 pound baby + car seat- ouch- it hurts!

about weight limit- yes, our DC2 went beyond 20 lbs the first 7 months- but we just bought a convertible that was rear facing- ie. we got the britax marathon for rear facing and then it lasts til 60 pounds (vs 40 lbs like the roundabout- we see DC2 a boy weighing more than our DC1 a girl who is still a really skinyn kid). But I can tell you by 7 months, both kids were sitting up (or strapped in to help stabilize) in grocery carts and did NOT want to be in the infant car seat- those days of super sleepy baby were long gone and wanting to see the world was big..

PP here- by 7 months I could easily put either child in a grocery cart or a stroller or baby bjorn and do whatever- the key part for the seat was that it was easy to move them from the car- they are not as delicate at 7 months and actually want out of the car seat- DC1 was 20 lbs at 13 months so it has nothing to do with weight- just developmental stage.. they are in the curious engaging stage and trying to crawl (but most likely not yet).. hth
