Any way to add a forum on Travel?

I feel like people repeatedly ask the same questions and it would be nice to go to one place for all the answers. For example, I need info on the CARES harness for an upcoming trip and it would be much easier if those responses were housed in 1 easy place.

I am a bit reluctant to add new forums due to complaints that there are too many already. Also, my experience with the mailing list suggests that travel questions are ones that people will ask no matter how many times they have been answered and how easy the answers are to find. Travel introduces stress in many people and their questions are aimed at relieving that stress as much as getting information. "How to travel with a baby on an airplane" has probably been asked well over 1,000 times on the mailing list.

As regards CARES specifically, the search system should easily turn up any posts addressing that topic. The mailing list archives (available to mailing list members only) also have many posts about CARES.

I like this idea- I know- we're only two people- but vacation options, locations etc. traveling with kids- all that could go in this one (if people ppost there versus general)- i can see spikes during the summer and holidays..

I second that idea. Maybe you could have it from Spring through Summer, then pull it for the rest of the year.

The more I think about it, this idea is actually pretty good. I'll have to replace one of the existing forums, however. Let me think about it further.

I'm the original poster. Thanks for considering. I think it might help cut down all the repeated questions if people actually use it!

I like the idea as well. I don't think you have to remove another forum, though. I bet most people don't think that there are too many forums. If you do, however, you could move the "for sale" or "nanny positions" forums to another page.

In the temporary forums vein, could you also think about adding a Toy present ideas forum as we get closer to the holidays? If I have to think of another original toy idea....
