In-law vent

Can't do this at home, so here I am:
FIL sending emails soliciting "advice" about getting rid of laptop and going to ipad or something similar. He's bitching about the cost of these things. Mind you they have been retired for over 25 years (in their early 50's!!) and take at least 3 cruises each year, some for 2 months at time. Never send birthday or Christmas gifts to their 8 grandchildren, maybe every few years and then it's a $25 check. DH bought the laptop a few years ago, and it was in the 4 figures at the time. I know FIL is fishing for another gift. Hate cheap relatives!! Vent over.

That sucks. My ILs can be cheap about crazy stuff (and I am not being picky - it is crazy), yet they dote on their grandkids. I bear with the schizo-cheapness because they are so generous in other ways.

Yup, that's what my retired (frugal all his life) dad does now that he no longer has use of his work computer. he knows the librarians by name.
