Anybody happy with Sligo Creek Elementary?

Anonymous
I heard the principal wasn't so good. Is this still true? If so, what is it about the principal? What is the culture of the school? Strict? Laid back? Anyone have any experience and able to name some positives and negatives? I am not interested in the French Immersion program.

We are very happy at Sligo Creek. I personally have had no problems with the principal. She has always been quick to respond to questions and concerns.

Can you say what you like about the school? Are you on the immersion side? Thanks!

Academy. Good school, good staff, lots of resources. Love the attmosphere and the principal is attentive. Very happy we are in this school!

Former Academy parent. Had hit and miss teachers (great 1st grade team!) Found principal to be condescending. Know some who have been happy there; others who have hated it.

Kids now in different schools and we see the world that we wished we'd had at SCES. Don't know how it's shaken out and feels inside the walls now that the boundary change is complete.

Our child was a student at Sligo Creek, and we loved it. Our child was not in the French program, but the parents we know whose children are in the program are very happy with it. However, our child had great teachers that challenged her. Very repsonsive to our questions, etc. Every school has its positives and negatives, but if it means anything, unless our younger child is not accepted into the Spanish immersion program, our younger child will go to SCE.

We live on a street that is zoned for this elementary and there are tons of kids on the street. Everyone I've met either sends their kid there and is happy with it or plans to send their child there. Very involved parents. Now I've course, I'll tell you more in a couple of years when I start, but that's the word on the street.
