Post-pregnancy period

I gave birth about 5 months ago, and stopped breastfeeding a month ago. I started my period in late May, early June (can't recall the exact date), and now it seems I am late.
PLEASE tell me that post-pregnancy, sometimes your periods are irregular and/or late. The alternative is that I'm pregnancy again, which I cannot contemplate right now.... Thanks. |

| The first few post-partum periods can be "off" and not like what you had before getting pregnant. It can take your body a little while to adjust to ovulation etc again. Good luck to you. |

It is definitely true that periods can be irregular again when they start back up.
But you're using contraception, right? Definitely important if you don't want to get pregnant -- don't rely on the calendar at this point! Hope it turns out the way you want. |

| My periods went from 28 days exactly before pregnancy to something like 30+ and not consistent after. Its been 6 months since I got mine back (starting 9 months after birth) and they're still not regular. |

| We took quite a while to conceive DD, born Oct. 07 and did exactly like you. I am now 8 weeks preg. with DC #2. Big surprise. Good luck |
