Expectant moms meet-up Columbia Heights/Petworth?

Hi fellow mommies-to-be,

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and finally starting to see the light since my head is not as often resting on the toilet seat. With my new found energy I would like to starting meeting other mommies-to-be in the neighborhood. Does anyone know if there are already gatherings in Columbia Heights/Petworth for expectant moms? I'm with Wisdom Midwifery, and Whitney mentioned that she thought there was already a group that meets at Sticky Fingers but she did not have more information. If no such group exists, is there any interest out there of forming such a group? It would be nice to meet other expectant moms that live in the area.

So happy to see someone else is interested in a meet up. Maybe if we meet once that would start the group, and slowly it would build over time as we spread the word among fellow expectant moms in the area that we meet over time. Would you like to meet at Stinky Fingers sometime?

I would also be interested in meeting up in Columbia Heights. I went to yahoo groups and tried to join Adams Morgan group and another one in Kalorma. I never heard anything and never got accepted into the group. It would be nice to meet up with women in the neighborhood.

I'm super excited that there are a number of expectant mommies-to-be hoping to meet up in the area. I previously proposed Sticky Fingers Bakery as a location - but I'm happy for other suggestions. Would Saturday, October 1 at 10am work for everyone?

I'd love to go but neither Thursday, Saturday, OR Sunday works for me this week, so I guess I'm the party pooper. Darn work!

Perhaps we could have an email list or Facebook group so that we can arrange other gatherings for folks (like me) who can't do this week?

Great suggestion! I took action right away and created a google/gmail group titled "CH/Petworthexpectantmoms2011/2012". I realize the title is a bit boring - but I wanted it to be selfexplanatory!

I set it up as a public group - so anyone can join, but only members can post messages. So please sign up to the group, and we'll make sure that everyone knows when/where the next meet up is going to take place!
