Quitting the Pump

Anonymous
I have been feeding my child breast milk by pumping (not nursing). We are approaching the 6 mo. mark and I'm ready to transition him to formula and stop pumping. How long should I expect it to take for my milk to dry up? I will gradually reducing the pumping to prevent any discomfort, leaking etc. but I'd like to be somewhat aggressive to get to the end reasonably quickly. Thanks.

There have been many posts on weaning, drying up, stop pumping, etc. you may want to do a search.

The quickest way for me (exclusively pumped like you OP) was to do the cabbage leaves + reduced suction on pump + reduced pumping sessions + 20 min down to 15 min.). With each reduction I waited for 2 days before I eliminated another pumping.
